Fall is in the Air

Fall has arrived in Western North Carolina! Fish are getting active and we are seeing some good days on the water. Fellow guide Dustin Coffey has joined the AFG team. Dustin brings a wealth of small stream knowledge and big fish karma! Wilson Creek delayed harvest will be kicking up in a couple of weeks as well.

The Catawba River Tailrace below lake James is shaping up for some good fall fishing. The Watauga River in Elizabethton Tennessee continues to produce good numbers and she has been our go to for fall float trips. Carp are still up on the flats and consistent sight fishing should continue into Nov. Small headwater streams are fishing lights out due to favorable late season flows.

If you are in the area this fall and are interested in a guided fly fishing trip give us a call 828-446-5552. We are close to Asheville NC, Boone NC, West Jefferson NC, Spruce Pine NC, Newland NC, Blowing Rock NC, Charlotte NC, Greensboro NC, Raleigh NC, and Johnson City TN to name a few.

Here are some pictures from recent trips.
